A Midsummer Night's Dream
Act III
Summary:
The scene opens up with the workers who are practicing some of their acts for the play, and they seem to be to struggling. One of my predictions that I made during this part of the act is that the play was going to resemble the plot/conflicts that occur in the love triangle and/or in King Oberon and Titania's wedding. In this part of the act Robin, I would say was the protagonist. After being instructed by Kind Oberon to take the flower and drop the juice on an Athenian boy to make him fall in love with the Athenian girl whom he never stops rejecting, he has caused a lot of mischievous on the way. As much fun as he was having, ruining the workers practicing their scenes for the play and dropping the flower juice on the Athenian boy, his actions created a mess of itself. In which King Oberon had to jump in and devise a plan to get things back to normal. What was your personal reaction to this reading selection?
My reaction of this act was that it was marvelous. The fairies nor the citizens of the village like Robin due to his delinquent ways. However, when reading his actions in the form of a play it makes the play extremely interesting. One interesting that I learned about Robin was that he truly loves his nature as even when he realized the negative aftermath of his actions he wanted to see where it would go and didn't immediately try to fix it. This is very new to see in a character as in today's films whenever a character makes a mistake he or she wants to immediately fix it and doesn't have the pure evil intent of watching their creation grow.
